You probably already know this, but …

I love what yoga does for my mind and my body,
I love that yoga provides for me something that
NOTHING else can even compare with.
I love the concept of yoga,
the poses of yoga and the
application of yoga to daily life-

I guess it’s safe to say that
I <3 YOGA!

My journey from yoga student to yoga teacher has taken me on an emotional road
of self discovery and self awareness that I was TOTALLY unprepared for, but that has been a HUGE blessing in so many ways!

I have been studying and pondering over some pretty significant life questions recently and have spent a lot of time thinking about all the beauty of my life that has been interspersed with some pretty wild and crazy times…

Devastating MN bridge collapse

Have you ever known those people who just seem so wealthy with joy regardless of WHAT their immediate circumstances are? I LOVE those kind of people– I by the way, am not always that kind of person.

But thinking about where one person might see joy, another person sees misery made me think of a story about a young gold prospector. You can watch it here if you’d like…

Beautiful lesson in the value of family, wellness and gratitude for each day

Over the past 5-6 years we have moved
from a wonderful home in a wonderful neighborhood,
to temporarily living in a friends basement,
to our dream home,
into 21 hotel rooms,
back to our dream home,
to temporary housing,
to rental home,
to another 4 month temp stint in a hotel,
to dream neighborhood (not so dream home),
to temporary housing,
to current home… for the time being (it looks like we might be off again soon)

Did you keep up??
Yeah! Me either!!

Sometimes a life feels a little more like a maze

On the surface, it might look like we’ve had a lot to be worried about:

loss of friends,
loss of connection,
loss of time “enjoying” due to acclimation to new areas,
loss of time due to emotions left unchecked,
loss of stability…..

Well, the loss list could go on and on-

The problem with looking at losses, or rocks, or trials, or turbulence

is that we forget to look at the gains; the wealth of the small & subtle accumulation of joy & beauty-
we forget to count in the gain of experience,
gain of knowledge,
gain of travel,
gain of friends,
gain of perspective,
gain of empathy,
gain of…. and the list can go on and on-

Friends from birth-

I wish I could declare to all my friends and family that
this life is all about wonder and beauty and blessings
and abundance and ease and comfort and security
and health and wellness and goodness-

Blessings abound in every obstacle we might face

It just ain’t
(that was life before the apple)

even amidst it’s trial and testing and challenges
and obstacles and doubt and confusion and
frustration and disappointment and
unrealized dreams and hardship and loss
and suffering and pain-
so many elements of Heaven wrapped up in every day-
we might have to look,
we might have to do a little digging

for sure, definitely, and most likely

we might have to look to the really small and simple pleasures that are often buried in the rocky and murky waters to see it-
but I know like I know nothing else that
mercy, grace and absolute love
FILL our very existence
every day, every hour, every minute-

Do you see gross dog germs or the faithful companionship between a girl and her dog?

It all depends on if we are going to pick these
little nuggets up and carry them away in our back pockets!
